Audits

At sites in operation, where a fire safety, smoke extraction or extinguishing system needs to be added or renovated, the consideration of your existing structures and operating constraints is decisive to the risk assessment process and your choice of technical solution. For that reason, before you launch your project, DOI can advise you after performing an in-depth diagnostic review of your specific issues and constraints, in order to determine the points to be considered to refine the design of your solution and ensure its compliance and reliability, as well as your continuous operations.

SUPPORT A LA CONCEPTION

Design support

DEF DOI carries out all the necessary studies (design and construction), in accordance with the regulations that apply to the type and intended use of the site you want to protect. At the same time, our engineers will optimise those studies, based on the needs you express and your stated goals.

MISE EN SERVICE

Commissioning

The installation and commissioning of a fire safety system demand in-depth technical, standards and regulatory knowledge so as to ensure the highest possible level of performance and reliability. Our teams of engineers and technicians have the best skills available to expedite your systems’ activation.

Our vast international presence, in the form of our local technicians and partners, allows us to offer outstanding services and comprehensive support for all your locations.

services-prestation-mesure

Bespoke services

DOI can adapt to a distribution of lots in line with your challenges: we are able to provide you with a turnkey service, encompassing studies, installation and activation, or we can supply products with or without services. These different methodologies can also be used with the prime contractor of your choosing.

As a result, you can opt for the type of service that best meets your expectations and constraints.

MAINTENANCE PREVENTIVE

Preventive maintenance

Preventive maintenance consists of the verification and comprehensive upkeep of fire safety installations in order to maintain them in good working order, in accordance with current standards and regulations. Regular preventive maintenance can therefore reduce the likelihood of your systems’ failure and minimise the need for corrective maintenance actions.

Support and advice are also offered by our engineers and technicians, who keep abreast of the latest technological and regulatory developments.

To ensure the effectiveness of each maintenance action, our local teams and partners have access to all the tools they need.

MAINTENANCE CURATIVE

Curative maintenance

Repairs are corrective maintenance actions, which are understood as services performed at the express request of the client, after observing a malfunction in the equipment or the system. They serve to restore a defective system to normal working order.

Our local teams and partners are available 24/7, within a maximum of 2, 4, 8, 24 or 48 hours after your call, depending on the severity of the fault and the type of maintenance contract you have with us, and will be happy to respond to all of your requests.

DOI guarantees the efficient response and management of your service requests.

service_migration

Technology migration

The management and operation of your fire safety system, throughout the life of your facility, are major issues. They demand the optimisation of total migration costs throughout your building’s lifespan.

With this in mind, DEF develops new products that ensure the forward compatibility of our equipment.

For example, DEF DOI can upgrade your fire detection set-up on a gradual basis, through our EKO Solution. That technology migration solution was created to replace older-generation DEF fire safety systems with a next-generation FSS.

The concept is simple and has proved its worth: the new detectors are substituted for the old ones, retaining the existing wiring and bases, and the whole system will continue to function throughout the transitional phase.

Migrating a system is typically staggered over several years, allowing time to adapt to any operating or cost-related issues at the concerned sites.

Removal of ionic detectors

Removal of ionic detectors

Within a context of the gradual replacement of ionic detectors, as required by the French interministerial decrees of 18 November 2011 and 6 March 2012, the dismantling and removal of ionic detectors must be carried out in accordance with regulatory obligations relating to radiation protection and environmental protection (regional constraints for classified facilities with prefectural operating authorisation and constraints imposed by the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN)) and require that a certificate of removal be issued.

The transport and handling of this kind of detector are also strictly regulated by ASN.

ASN authorisation no. F410004 gives DEF permission to provide all of these dismantling, removal, transport and handling services for ionic detectors.

Training

The DEF Network’s Client Training Organisation was created in 2008, in response to the training needs generated by the operation of the fire safety systems (FSSs) installed and maintained by DEF.

Our team of expert trainers will give your staff the knowledge and skills they need to correctly operate your system.

We aim to increase your autonomy and safety whilst ensuring you are in compliance with regulatory requirements.

To that end, DOI offers a complete range of training options which you can incorporate into your training plan, as part of your personnel’s skills development.

Our partners

DOI selects and accredits competent companies, located as close as possible to your site, to perform the necessary operations for the sale, study, activation and maintenance of your fire safety system.

All these local companies, or DEF Service Partners (DSPs), have a special relationship with DOI:

Training for their technical teams
Regular skills updates
Sales support
Information on new products
Feedback.
