In 2010, building on more than 30 years of international experience, the DEF Group structured and accelerated its global development with the creation of the International Operations Division (DEF DOI).

This division resulted from the consolidation of two DEF entities that were already well established internationally: AFRIMO, dedicated to Africa and the Middle East, and TTAI, responsible for the French overseas territories (DOM-TOM) and international opportunities outside Europe.

From its inception, DEF DOI has been committed to delivering the expertise, solutions, and know-how of the DEF Network on major international projects, particularly in industrial, energy, oil & gas sectors, as well as stadiums, airports, government complexes, shopping centers, infrastructure, and sensitive facilities.

Today, DEF’s international presence relies on a structured global ecosystem, combining:

• DEF subsidiaries established abroad, operating autonomously depending on the region
• the DEF Network
• and a network of approved local partners known as DEF Service Partners (DSP)

These international operations notably include subsidiaries in Algeria, West Africa, the Indian Ocean (La Réunion), as well as a design engineering office in Tunisia, all contributing to the international reach and influence of the DEF Group.

Historically, DEF DOI has focused its primary activities on Africa and the Middle East, including major projects in North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula, particularly in Saudi Arabia.

In these regions, DEF DOI works with contracted installation partners, including DSP partners in countries such as Saudi Arabia and Senegal, operating within a demanding framework of technical and commercial cooperation.

At the same time, the International Operations Division supports and develops projects in other parts of the world, notably in South and Southeast Asia, Latin America, and South America, demonstrating the DEF Group’s ability to deliver complex projects on a global scale.

Through DEF DOI, the DEF Group reaffirms a clear ambition:
